Simple Tasks to Hire
Out
Moms would love to be able to handle
everything concerning their families. But, there aren’t enough
hours in the day.
Short of cloning herself, mom needs help from other people who
can perform some tasks for her.
It would be nice to complete the “to do” list at the end of
every day. I would
run out on the lawn and shout that I was king of the
world. Well maybe
not, but I would still feel good inside. Unfortunately, mom needs to
delegate tasks to be sure that everything gets
done.
Enterprising youngsters are always looking to make a
buck. If they want
to mow the lawn, give them a chance. Moms have a way of getting
under daddy’s skin when he is supposed to cut the grass and he
doesn’t. It can
get ugly. To keep
the peace, hire a neighborhood kid or a lawn service to take
care of the grass and the landscaping. I pay $20 every two
weeks to a high-school kid, and it’s much more affordable than
the marriage counseling we’d need if hubby and I kept fighting
over the tall grass!
Moms know how to clean their homes. They do it on a daily basis
in some form or fashion. Busy moms don’t always have
time to hit more than the high spots. Hiring a maid once or twice a
month to deep clean the house is a good idea. You can get the rugs deep
cleaned, the baseboards cleaned, the windows washed, and things
like that. It just gives you a chance to catch up, instead of
always feeling behind in your cleaning.
You may prefer to watch at first to make sure things are done
to your specifications. Spend time with the kids
while the cleaning is being done or fix
dinner.
Since you don’t have to do the cleaning, do something
else or nothing at all for a change.
Stay at home moms love some time away from the kids every now
and then. Being
around children all day makes you hungry for a bit of adult
conversation. It’s
either that or reverting back to childhood. Spending time with friends
beyond the four walls of the house requires a
babysitter.
A close friend, a responsible teenager from the neighborhood,
or your spouse may do you the honor of watching the young ones
while you go out.
Hiring a sitter is a good idea during the summer when the kids
are out of school.
It gives you time to work uninterrupted in your home office or
go out to meetings with clients.
On special occasions, you can hire a caterer to do the dinner
meal. For some
moms, fixing a big meal can lead to unwanted
stress. A
caterer allows you to spend more time with your family
than in the kitchen. This also means no
dirty dishes to clean up afterwards. Start saving your money
now, Thanksgiving is coming!
Moms want to do as much as they can for their
families. This
includes being willing to delegate jobs to others who can do it
better and in a timelier fashion. The extra time will be well
worth it.
